Developed by Gwinnett County (GA) government officials and designed by doctors, scientists and engineers, the count covid site is a partnership of efforts between Georgia Institute of Technology, Emory School of Medicine and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The goal is to provide time–based displays, similar to weather maps, illustrating the start and spread of covid–19. This will not only help us determine if social distancing is effective in different locations, but also whether locations are in the beginning stages of infectious spread or nearing the end.

We will make the anonymous data collected by the count covid tool available to the cdc as well as other academic investigators for epidemiologic studies.
